There’s a lot moving this week on Mobile Developer TV.
Indeed, this week has to be one of the most exciting weeks of the year, so far, with both the Pre launch and the iPhone ‘launch’ — or at least, clarification.
Speculation is running riot throughout the chattering geek classes of San Francisco that, if Apple really wanted to stick one to Palm, they would use this week to announce the general availability of the new iPhone (i.e. Steve Jobs will proclaim: “And you can get one today”). That would take a lot of people by real surprise. Either way, most of the industry will settle for final confirmation on the iPhone specifications. More on-board memory, better processor, better this-that-and-something-else. Apple has proved it has the capacity to completely surprise us… so we shall see.
In advance of reaction to the upcoming iPhone announcement this week, we’ve got some Palm Pre goodness for you. We’ll be bringing you Myriam ‘Tnkgrl‘ Joire’s first impressions of the Palm Pre. Myriam was first in line at the Castro Sprint Store on Saturday morning to pick up a brand new Pre along with one of the super-dooper charging blocks. She ran into a few problems with one of the features — solved overnight by the helpful Palm team.
We’ve also got coverage from last week’s Mobile Monday Silicon Valley (held in Palo Alto this time) where I caught some brilliant developers on camera, a tour around the TinyPictures offices with their CEO, John Poisson and a lot more besides.
