If you’re a mobile developer, Maurice Sharp is the man you need to be talking to at the Symbian Foundation in North America. Recently appointed, Maurice has been around the block in the mobile industry — he used to be a developer himself before moving to the service side to help out others at the likes of Palm and Apple. Now he’s reaching out to developers on behalf of Symbian. Quite a challenge in iPhone-centric Silicon Valley, some might think? Well Maurice has some rather interesting experiences — there’s a lot of people taking a look at Symbian particularly in view of the recent Ovi Store launch — and because, as Maurice points out, there is a massive installed base that they can help developers address. Now. Today.
I caught up with Maurice at Mobile Monday Silicon Valley the other week and asked him to introduce himself and give us an overview of the developer possibilities. Check it out!
Just a reminder — if you’d like to get these videos sent automatically to your iPhone or similar podcast device, the details you need are right here.
And don’t forget to check out Epsiode 8 — that’s the Mobile Monday Silicon Valley June show.
