In the previous episode, 148, we talked to David about Mobile World Congress and the trends and themes he was witnessing. After we finished the interview, he had a little bit more time so I grabbed the opportunity to ask David what his top 3 sci-fi movies were. What follows is an absolutely fascinating ‘real-time’ riff from David on where he sees the future going — in terms of technology augmentation — and what to do about the human race becoming far too reliant on technology that may well turn against us. Or that we simply couldn’t do without.

You can find out more about David and his technology consultancy at DeltaWisdom.com. Get him on Twitter: @dw2

David’s got a fascinating event coming up this month called Humanity Plus. The event aims to explore this question:

How will accelerating technological change affect human mental and physical capabilities as well as the environment in which we live?

If you’re at all interested in the next generation of human augmented computing, definitely, definitely check it out: http://humanityplus-uk.com.

I sat down — a little while ago now — with Christopher David, Head of Developer and Partner Engagement at Sony Ericsson. Apart from being a thoroughly nice chap and very knowledgeable on the industry, I found him disarmingly frank. If you’re into mobile development, I think this will certainly get your attention and quite possibly change your mind about one the Sony Ericsson platform. For too long, Sony Ericsson has been relegated to the back-of-the-room when it came to discussing mobile development platforms — and undeservedly so. They’ve got a massive amount of infrastructure invested in the PlayNow platform — so much so that, if you’re interested, you can actually reach a TON (and I mean MILLIONS) of Sony Ericsson users, right now, via that gateway.

Anyway, watch the video and see what you think… There’s more to come from Christopher.
