At the MEF Americas 2010 Content & Commerce event in Miami recently I sat down with Nokia’s top Ovi man, Marco Argenti, to ask him about how things were going with the platform.

In a measure of how quickly things are progressing, the stat he gave in this video (over 3 million downloads per day) is now out of date — and that’s in just 3 weeks! The Ovi Store is now getting in excess of 3.5 million downloads each day.

Now given that when we asked Nokia’s EVP, Anssi Vanjoki, to comment on the future of mobile at Nokia, he made it very clear that he sees the map as a primary or generic mobile interface, I was very much looking forward to sitting down with Christof to get his perspective. In part 1, Anssi deals with the issue of the Nokia N97, the company’s flagship consumer device, which launched to a hail of criticism. That criticism then extended into popular annoyance with consumers all around the world hugely frustrated by hole after hole. The company cleared dropped the ball, but stayed silent.
